Regenerative agriculture

Grow your farm sustainably

What is regenerative agriculture?

ReGeneration home page - English

Regenerative agriculture is based on innovative and proven farming practices aimed at restoring soil health while increasing its carbon sequestration capacity. Techniques such as cover crops, crop rotation, and reduced tillage improve farm productivity while contributing to the fight against climate change.

By regenerating soils, farmers promote biodiversity, optimize water retention, and reduce their reliance on chemical inputs. The result: more resilient and profitable farms.

Why integrate these practices into your farm?

Financial value

Ecosystem benefits, such as carbon sequestration, can be monetized through carbon credits.

Improved resilience

Soils rich in organic matter retain water more effectively, reduce erosion, and mitigate climatic extremes.

Cost reduction

Fewer chemical inputs, less energy consumption, yet optimized yields.

Pride and legacy

Enriching your soils today means leaving a thriving farm for future generations.

With nearly 40% of the world’s land dedicated to agriculture, transitioning to regenerative practices is a key response to the challenges of global warming. Every committed farmer actively contributes to tempering local microclimates, removing more carbon from the atmosphere, and preserving natural resources.

The 9 Commandments of regenerative agriculture

At ReGeneration, we have defined a roadmap with nine principles to support farmers in their transition:

  1. Maximum soil cover: Protect soils from erosion and optimize carbon storage.
  2. Crop diversification: Preserve biodiversity and the natural fertility of soils.
  3. Minimal soil disturbance: Promote soil structure and biological activity.
  4. Agroecological infrastructures: Hedges, grass strips, and ponds to strengthen ecosystems.
  5. Prevalence of pastures: Restore soils with rotational grazing practices.
  6. Local biomass production: Be self-sufficient in organic matter to enrich soils.
  7. Reduced dependency on inputs: Favor natural processes for healthy, living soils.
  8. No synthetic nitrogen: Use legumes for natural fertilization.
  9. Social responsibility: Adopt practices that respect communities and the environment.

Aligned with these principles, ReGeneration is part of the 4p1000 initiative, of which we are members and partners. This initiative highlights that if the carbon level stored in soils increased by 0.4% (or 4‰) annually, the yearly increase in atmospheric CO2 would be significantly reduced.
